Being fascinated by human behaviour and its underlying driving forces, Fabian in his artistic practice explores the hidden structures that shape man's interaction with the outside world and social practices and techniques that determine the way people think, feel and behave. The so called Schandstein (in English: „shame-stone") was a form of punishment in Germany during the middle ages and in early modern times. It was a heavy stone that had to be carried around the neck on a chain by persons who where convicted of slander or defamatory gossip.
